Meet The Founder

Ellis Hollands
Ellis Hollands, the founder of Intrinsic Classics, has been breathing new life into classic car restoration for over half a decade now. His journey began as a young apprentice in Victoria, where he honed his skills working directly with Mercedes-Benz.
Over the years, Ellis has restored countless classic Mercedes, many of which were the rare 300SL Gullwings. His work has been featured in numerous classic car publications and has been on the team to produce the most valuable 300SL auctioned to this day.
Ellis's philosophy is simple: "Every classic car tells a story. Our job is to preserve that story while ensuring the car can continue to create new memories for years to come."

Where It All Began
While Ellis's professional journey began with Mercedes, his passion for restoration was ignited by a far more humble steed: a beat-up 1990 Mazda Miata he bought for a steal during his college years.
"It was more rust than car," Ellis chuckles, recalling his first project. "My friends thought I was crazy, but I saw potential in that little roadster."
Nights and weekends were spent tinkering, learning, and occasionally cursing at the stubborn bolts and mysterious rattles. But slowly, the Miata began to transform.
"The day I got it running smoothly and took it for a spin with the top down - that feeling was indescribable," Ellis reminisces. "I knew then that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life."
Since then, Ellis has restored a handful more Miatas, each one holding a special place in his heart. "They're like potato chips," he grins. "You can't stop at just one."
While Intrinsic Classics now focuses on high-end restorations, Ellis keeps that first Miata as a reminder of where his journey began. "It's not the most valuable car in my collection," he admits, "but it's certainly the most precious."
